I spent a wonderful hour this afternoon playing a new 2003 Steinway Model M
But recently in New York City I played and heard an M at Faust Harrison that was amazingly beautiful and well done. It was just fantastic
I've tested many M, L, O's, and a few S's. The S's are definitely inferior; in fact many uprights are better. The differences between M,L,O, are slight, but I have yet to play an L I liked. Some O's have beautiful woodwork, but the best soundings ones were the M's
