Unlike the after-market retrofit systems available for installation into pre-existing
pianos, this instrument was designed and manufactured to be a Disklavier piano.
The structure and integrity of the piano has not been compromised, in order
to incorporate the Disklavier record/playback systems. Rigid quality control
standards are maintained by having all work performed by highly skilled factory
craftsmen, using components manufactured by Yamaha.
U/L listed
This Disklavier piano is Underwriters Laboratories (U/L) listed. The customer
can rest assured that the product is completely safe, when used in a normal
and customary manner, regardless of location.
The touch and sound of a real acoustic piano
Using floppy disks as a recording medium, this digital device plays a high-quality
acoustic piano during playback, ensuring that tonal irregularities, noise
and distortion typically found in audio recordings of a piano, are completely
avoided. The owner enjoys hearing the beauty of "true" piano sound
from a high-quality acoustic piano, instead of a "recording" of
one.
