The C6, and its more expensive cousin, S6, are my favourite Yamaha pianos. I have certainly seen well made S6 in Yamaha's showroom in Tokyo; however, the price of S6 is indeed comparable to that of a Steinway B
I was in the Yamaha store in Tokyo a couple of months ago, and had a chance
to try C5, C6, C7, S400, S6 and S7. My choice was S6 hands down. Very nice.
However, for the price of S6, you could almost buy a Steinway B which would
definitely be my choice.
The new handmade S4 and S6 pianos, however, are
very nice. They
are close to the quality of the old Cs, IMO, but use slightly different
materials. The price tags on these, however, make them untouchable
